Terrestrial & Wildlife Sciences
The focus of terrestrial and wildlife studies is typically to identify important species, habitats and/or ecosystems in order to avoid impacts and provide mitigation strategies and recommendations.
These studies can ensure compliance with legislation and/or regulations. They also provide valuable information for project development such as clarification on construction timing windows.
Examples of the types of studies undertaken include:
- Wildlife habitat assessments
- Wetland and set habitat classifications
- Species at Risk (SARA) inventory
- Nesting habitat surveys
- Terrestrial ecosystem classification
- Grizzly Bear and Mountain Goat habitat mapping
The following are some examples that illustrate the type of projects we have undertaken:
BC Hydro Water Use Planning Project – BC Hydro and Metlakatla Band. Prince Rupert, BC. 2007-2009.
Kitselas First Nation Resource Management Support – 2007-2009.
